Well pals and gals, I have been mega-busy today, and haven’t had the opportunity to sit down and write anything particularly thoughtful. But I would like to go ahead and post a few nuggets of awesome that I have run across over the past week or so. Please feel free to browse and click to your heart’s content, and hopefully tomorrow I will have the time/energy to put up a proper post.
1. The Flaming Lips and the “Yoshimi” musical
I’m a big old fan of the Flaming Lips, arguably Oklahoma’s finest export. Their epic album “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots” is the basis for a full-scale stage musical, and it will finally hit the stage this fall. Article on HitFix.com: The Flaming Lips’ musical “Yoshimi” sets late fall premiere
2. Team Uterati wants you!
Via My Ready Room, I discovered the newly-minted website of Team Uterati, and it’s a great resource for anyone who’s trying to keep an eye on the GOP’s war on women. With a developing wiki and forums that will keep track of anti-choice, anti-woman legislation in all 50 states (under the heading “Ladybusiness Legislation – love it!), this promises to be a valuable tool and meeting place for those who want to keep the government out of our bedrooms, doctors’ offices and vajay-jays. BTW, If you are handy with tech-type stuff and supportive of their cause, they’re looking for help setting everything up.
3. Our conservative courts, (not) working hard for America!
On another blog I follow, Polentical, there is an interesting post illustrating the effect of conservative activism in our courts. To quote from the post, “…when the conservatives talk about government not working, they’re doing their very best to try and make that true.”
4. RuPaul’s Drag Race goes All Star! Woohoo!
I’m a big fan of Logo’s reality show/contest, RuPaul’s Drag Race. Funny, bitchy, fabulous people make the world go round, y’all. And I am happy to hear that some favorites from previous seasons will be coming back in the All Stars edition of Drag Race that’s coming this fall. Here’s the scoop from Entertainment Weekly: Logo launching all-stars edition of “RuPaul’s Drag Race”
And last but not least, a little ha-ha for ya on this 15th of March, which I saw on my friend Brady’s Facebook page:
